Self Healing Meditation Framework To Reduce Anxiety And Get Needed Sleep


Today I dedicate this post to my students in my community and the thousands of people who have been directly or indirectly affected by the unprecedented hurricanes this season.

Due to the extreme weather conditions your body, nervous system, spirit, and heart are likely a kind of tired and overwhelmed that is bone deep- and that is to be expected. You are not alone.

You are ok, and you are not ok. Both things are true. Its ok to take a break. It’s ok to seek help. I recommend this Self-Healing Meditation framework to help you restore balance, reduce anxiety and help you sleep and/or stay focused.

Two Steps plus Two:

1. Find a comfortable position, close your eyelids and focus on 3 slow deep breaths
2. Shift your focus of attention to imagine and/or visualize positive healing thoughts for a family member, friend or co-worker.

> This is a key step that will shift the focus away from yourself and any of the tension you are experiencing. Doing this is an act of love and compassion and science demonstrates a noticeable positive effect in the brain when you feel and express compassion. It is a spiritual law that teaches – ” The frequencies of love and compassion transform the energies of fear – anxiety to a higher expression.”

> After imagining and/or visualizing loving thoughts to people you care about, the next thing you know you’ll be fast asleep. I use this tool all the time.

Science has proven it: every human being is trained and conditioned to earn a set amount of income, and enjoy a certain level of fulfillment. The good news is that brain scan studies prove that you can re-wire and strengthen the key areas in your brain that control your conscious AND subconscious and the Silva Method is a proven system to help you take command of your life.

There are four skills that are necessary for you to develop in order to truly Take Command Of Your Life. It is an inside game and these skills are the four pillars to support your growth and effective navigation through the ever-increasing demands, challenges, and opportunities that are a part of Life today.

First, we need to be able to effectively manage the distresses, cultivate hope and optimism and generate energy. You can do this by maintaining your daily dynamic meditation practice and develop triggers that allow you to stay calm and focused even under pressure. You’ll also want to implement short Transitions of releasing tension and focusing on your intention as you move through your day’s activities.

Second, seek clarity by asking questions to understand what you really want and WHY you want it. It’s important that your actions, behaviors and goals are in alignment with your values and that you maintain your integrity. When posed with a challenging situation, you can ask:

  1. Can I change her/him/the event?
  2. Can I help her/him/the event?
  3. Can I live with it?
  4. Can I change me to stay in alignment and make this work?

Third, Rewire your nervous system to eliminate false limiting beliefs and ADD new more positive and supportive beliefs. Your task here is to develop the confidence that you can figure things out. You do this by remembering and reliving your past moments of excellence.

Fourth, Access your creativity and learn to trust your intuition. This takes the right kind of training and practice to understand – What’s The Difference That Makes The Difference!

It’s not easy and I know you may be struggling and yet here you are making the time to help yourself. I want to honor you and your persistent efforts. I would like to help you.

3 Tips To Help You Sleep Better And Wake Up Refreshed


Not everyone experiences stress the same. We each have a different disposition to stress, especially when you have the right training.
But everyone does feel the pressure that comes from not having enough time, energy or resources to get everything done. And when you feel this pressure build up… your stress levels rise… and turn toxic inside your body. 
Yet despite all of the growing evidence of the importance of stress management… no one wants to talk about it. Some people even think it’ll make them appear disorganized or weak. And yet as we all know dis-stress is the leading cause of disease, relationship problems, our happiness and even our income levels.

According to the many sources I have researched, the inability to get to sleep, stay asleep and/or feel rested is costing business Billions of dollars each year. And poor sleep habits are wreaking havoc on our lives in terms of our health, well-being and ultimately our effectiveness in life.

According to the World Health Organization, “Health is the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” It is a resource for everyday life, not the objective of living. Physical wellbeing is something a person can achieve by enhancing all health-related lifestyle components.


Regaining health is not all that hard to achieve and…maintaining health for the rest of your life is even easier. In today’s world, with the high cost of health care, can your really afford to get sick?


Mind science research has suggested that the key to most of the things we want in life, whether it’s abundance, career success, health, happiness or enlightenment, lies in a particular state of mind.


Scientists have demonstrated that Alpha and Theta brainwave frequencies are associated with inner levels of mental activity, tranquility, rest, inspiration, accelerated healing, creativity, intuition, learning and memory.


We attain these states of mind during sleep and meditation. The question is… how do you achieve this state of mind during waking consciousness?  (hint)

How To Convert Failure Into Opportunity


When it comes to personal effectiveness, we need to learn from so called failure – mishaps – screw ups to allow our best self to come forward for the task at hand.

Overcoming failure and or the fear of failure is crucial for success. For many highly successful men and women who have accomplished great things in life, failure was merely a stepping-stone to achieving greatness.

Numerous studies in places like the Harvard Business review, find that the way people feel at work profoundly influences how they perform. Keeping this in mind, it is safe to say that the way we manage so-called failure will also profoundly influence our level of achievement.

First, we want to redefine failure and shift our point of view to a more supportive perspective. We have all come to recognize failure to be the disguise of a great teacher and a necessary step to achieve greatness, make a difference, and enhance performance.


> What can I learn from…..
 >> this situation?
 >> this person I am working with?
 >> this and myself?

Then Ask……
> Can I live with this?
 >> Is this situation or person in alignment with my values?
 >> What can I do to make it work for me?
 >> How can I turn this around?

Celebrate and appreciate the failure! That’s right you heard me correctly. Keep affirming that with each and every mistake, you are one step closer to realizing your goal. Express gratitude for the feedback and learn from it. 

I can remember my early days as a Silva instructor. I was full of passion to make a difference and change the world (I still am) and yet I lacked the business skills necessary to support my Vision. I cannot even remember how many mistakes – so-called failures I made. I nearly bankrupted myself. I found myself loading trucks for UPS from 4AM to 9AM and then working as a waiter in a restaurant from 11AM to 10PM just to pay the bills and subsidize my passion for Silva. It was not fun.

I eventually came to realize that I was getting closer and closer to become a full time, top producing, prospering Silva Instructor. I feel very blessed and appreciative for this accomplishment.

The lesson here is that we are in a constant state of flux, strategizing, implementing and making adjustments along the way. It is much easier to make corrections once we have some momentum. It is inevitable to make mistakes along the way. No body is 100%. It is not a problem to fail. It is, however tragic to not learn the lessons from the mistakes or so called failures.

Embrace the fact that you are not perfect and are bound to make some errors along life’s journey. It is not personal and when the s….hits the fan, it is feedback that you need to evaluate, assess the situation and make a change in your approach.

And as Lao Tzu once said,
“Failure is the foundation of success, and the means by which it is achieved.”

Remember that no one does it alone. Seek help, advise, support, training and maybe even take someone you admire who is achieving big time, to lunch. We become just like the people we spend most of our time with. So be more selective of who and where you spend your time. It is called modeling and is a very powerful tool that even neuroscience will verify.


Freedom – State Change – Mind Control


Self-Mastery in life requires self awareness plus self regulation to increase personal effectiveness. When it comes to personal effectiveness, we need to be in the best internal state to allow our best self to come forward for the task at hand.

Personal freedom has more to do with your internal state, your degree of self-awareness and the effective implementation of your developed skill set. This is what true Mind Control is all about – self control.

Things are not always what they appear to be and this is especially accurate when it comes to posts on Social Media and/or the news media. We all have the ability to access internal states of wisdom, and intuition that can guide us to make better, wiser decisions.

This internal state has been compared to non-ordinary states, the subconscious, ecstasis and Flow states. The heightened state of mind-body levels of awareness that transcends the laws of logic, reasoning and critical thinking. It is a state that when we experience it, ideas flow that are often innovative breakthroughs.

Science and Psychology have for many decades investigated the brain chemistry of these states that often people experience while in Flow that is activated during extreme adventure sports, the joggers high, moments of excellence, orgasm, the feeling of being lost in music, and even drugs like MDMA (Exstacy).

The conclusion from the research also finds that we can achieve this blissful, insightful state from meditation and it’s free of risk. Any meditator has indeed recognized this one way or another.

The takeaway for you is to be sure to add meditation as part of your daily practice and ask questions to get to the truth. Taking command of your life requires awareness and skills. It is an investment in self-care that is well worth it and some would even suggest necessary.



How To Manifest With Grace And Passion


What is the difference between Passion and Obsession ?

We all know the importance of having a passion for our work, the causes we invest our resources in, our hobbies and of course when it comes to High Performance and/or our manifestation skills.
But when does it become an obsession that creates anxiety, feelings of guilt, lack of results’ and eventually burnout?

Manifesting in any area of life requires a relaxed focused detachment to the outcome. We need to clear a path to inner wisdom and/or the higher self to access insights.

You create a resource state of hope, confidence and certainty by reliving with intense positive emotion a past moment of excellence and lock it in with a trigger such as your three fingers held together.

In this 18 minute video, I share with you some tips to prevent obsession and improve your manifestation skills. Or as I prefer to say, your Co-Creation skills.


Ecstacy And Meditation by Ken Coscia


Ecstacy is defined as  an overwhelming feeling of great happiness or joyful excitement. It’s also known as an emotional or religious frenzy or trancelike state, originally one involving an experience of mystic self-transcendence. Then there is the pharmacological definition referring to the drug –  an amphetamine-based synthetic drug with euphoric and hallucinatory effects, originally promoted as an adjunct to psychotherapy.

Steven Kotler and Jamie Wheal report in their book “Stealing Fire” how Silicon Valley, the Navy Seals and Maverick Scientists are revolutionizing the way we live and work by getting into a state of Ecstasis. It’s a fascinating look at research experiments and applications of this joyful, focused heightened state of awareness that dates back to the ancient Greeks, William James at Harvard University to the present research into FLOW and High Performance.

The research shows that when in this state there is a noticeable shift in brain waves to Alpha and Theta and the brain releases the neuro-chemicals of serotonin, oxytocin, anandamide, dopamine, norepinephrine and endorphins. This cascade of brain chemicals decreases pain, boosts lateral thinking, prompting feelings of peace, well-being, trust and sociability. This non-ordinary state, as it’s called lets us perceive and process more of what’s going on around us and with greater accuracy.

The information richness of a non-ordinary state affords us perspective to make connections where none may have existed before. According to the authors, it doesn’t seem to matter which technique we deploy to get there: mindfulness training, technological stimulation, or pharmacological priming, the end results are substantial. Research reports a 200% boost in creativity, a 490% boost in learning and a 500% boost in productivity.

It is my observation that by far using a mindfulness training, Silva Method Dynamic Meditation training or other proven modalities is the safest and surest way to take command and control of our lives from the inside out. Psychologists at the University of North Carolina in a 2009 study found that even four days of meditation produced significant improvements in attention, memory, vigilance, creativity and cognitive flexibility. This by the way is still yet another reason why I offer and recommend the Silva four day Immersion experience where we spend more than 50% of our time practicing Dynamic Meditation.

We’ve all heard the expression – When you change your point of view, you change your life.
